Anchor Agency Unveils the National TV Ad
For APAWS with Yucko's tag
Atlanta, GA 01/26/08 TJ Kirgin, President of Anchor Communicatins
presented the new national TV commercial for a.P.A.W.S.
aPaws is an international trade association of professional pooper scoopers. They're goal is to advance awareness about the perils of not picking up pet waste. Many people believe it to be fertilizer, it's not, it is one the the most common causes of childhood disease and a major non source point pollutant for inland waterways. Parasites like roundworm stay in the soil for years after the waste has decomposed. The TV ad produced by Anchor will be seen on broadcast, Cable, Satelite and Web Advertising across the world. A reporter from the Wall Street Journal was also present to do a story. Anchor was proud to be the ad agency chosen for the national project and invited to Atlanta to launch the campaign infront of 30 aPAWS members. When asked how he felt about the project, TJ Kirgin said, "Someones gotta DOO it!"
Pet waste is a problem we all face whether we own a dog, cat, horse, goose,
etc. Most cities have adopted pooper scooper laws requiring you to clean up
after your pet or you will be fined. Having your yard cleaned up by a pooper
scooper weekly will save you time and money.
AnchorStl Wins a Telly TV Advertising Award!
St. Louis, MO, Advertising Agency and Video Production House, Anchor Communications has won a coveted Telly Award for excellence in local spot TV production for they're country/rock video jingle TV ad produced for Ethyl's Smokehouse and Saloon.
When Ethyl's wanted to break into broadcast media, they turned to local Ad Agency, Anchor Communications. Anchor's creative team researched the product over alot of BBQ and decided that a "Are you ready for Some Football!" style jingle would cut through the clutter on the radio. Upon further brainstorm, they decided to create a fictional character named "Smokey". Problem was, there was already a real "Smokey" working at Ethyl's. He is the head cook and that is his nickname. To add to the irony, the team was advised that Smokey was a Barbecue maistro by day and a rock and roll singer with 20 years at the mike by night. He even plays occasionaly at Ethyl's!
It was on, Anchor's creative guru's met with Smokey, wrote an incredible Jingle and sent it to production at Smokey's basement studio! Another cook actually played drums in the production.
After a branding smash hit radio campaign, Ethyl's was sold on moving the jingle to the small screen on local spot TV, While Anchor's media buyers were working on the KTVI Fox 2 plan, the creative team again went to work on a :30 spot production that would compliment the already awsome jingle. Not many people knew the cook was actually the man behind the Jingle, so Anchor decided a music video style ad with the cook, the ethyl's crew and actual Ethyl's patrons would be the ingredients to a Smokin hit.

THE NEW TOWN AT ST. CHARLES IS BEST-SELLING DEVELOPMENT OUT OF 17,280 COMMUNITIES IN 16 STATES
According to a recent study, The New Town at St. Charles, a new urbanism development off Hwy. 370 and New Town Blvd., was the best-selling development out of 17,280 communities in 16 states.
The study was conducted by MarketGraphics.
Developer Greg Whittaker, president of Whittaker Homes, contributes New Town’s amazing success to two key factors. “This is one of the only new-home developments in the entire Midwest that adheres to the new urbanism (otherwise known as a traditional neighborhood development) architectural design principles and guidelines. If you want to live in a new home in a true traditional neighborhood development, New Town is the place to buy,” says Whittaker.
The New Town at St. Charles also is one of the most affordable new urbanism projects in the entire country. In fact, new urbanism experts agree that New Town is one of the most important new urbanism projects in the country because of the mix of housing types and price ranges. Prices start from the mid-$100’s and range to $800’s . Housing types include townhome mansions, row houses, cottages, single-family homes, custom homes, live work units and senior courtyards.
Ultimately, this $1.5 billion project will be a thriving town with approximately 5,700 residences in ten phases, with a carefully planned mix of homes in addition to a large town center and four neighborhood centers.
To reach New Town at St. Charles, take Hwy. 370 to north on New Town Blvd., 1.5 miles to the entrance on the right. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. For information, call 636-949-2700 or visit www.newtownatstcharles.com.
