Latent Semantic Indexing... Is the latest change or addition to Googles search parameters. No longer is the optimization of a keyword or group of keywords important. Now we must look to optimizing for keyword synonyms or other related keywords. You may use Google Latent Semantic Indexing LSI for yourself by conducting this test:
1. Go to Google 2. Search "Ad Agencies St. Louis" 3. Review the results 4. Go back to Google 5. Search "~Ad Agencies St. Louis"
(by placing the ~ symbol in front of the search query, it indicates you are looking for a Latent Semantic Index Search)
6. Review the results again, do you notice a difference?
First of all, the original search resulted in no true ad agencies ranked organically on the first page, Second, the keywords that were delivered were strictly "ad", "agency" and "St. Louis"
In the Latent Semantic Index search, the results were slightly different. In my test, AnchorStl showed up on page one instead of page two and the keywords highlighted in the page descriptions were more than what searched. Google's Latent Semantic Indexing Search took the search term "ad" and delivered "advertising" as well.
In a nutshell, Latent Semantic Indexing is the next stage of Search Engine Artificial Intelligence.
